Important News For Everyone!!!

Ok, so I found out a few days ago that I am going to get braces on March 4th. D: Luckily, my totally amazing orthodontist puts them on a special way. He takes a mold of my teeth and does the braces on that, so he just takes them off of the mold and puts them on me. No more old fashioned one by one placing. Plus, no headgear!!!! They have a special contraption that takes the place of headgear, and it is barely noticeable. Do you have any info that I should know? If you do, please tell me. Also, I'm having them on for about 2-2 1/2 years. That's a lot of colors! Any suggestions? No yellow, purple, or black because they make your teeth look weird from far away. I will probably use your color suggestions eventually, but I am getting green for my first month. Au Revoir!

  1. Braces, wires, springs, rubber bands, and other appliances can attract food and plaque, which can stain teeth if not brushed away. Most orthodontists recommend brushing after every meal or snack with fluoridetoothpaste and carefully removing any food that may have gotten stuck in your braces. Some orthodontists will also prescribe or recommend a fluoride mouthwash, which can get into places in the mouth that a toothbrush can't reach. Also you won't want to eat apples, bagels, taffy, caramels, corn on the cob, pretzels, popcorn, nuts, carrots and gum. If you are wondering how i know this all, Isabelle is getting braces, but when she is older. And i am a very good listener.

  3. Grace I didn't know that braces came in colors. It sounds like Emma got some good information from her Mom.
